Circus @ Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

The best thing to look forward after work is definitely the time you will be spending with your friends chilling at a pub. Seeing how busy am I lately with work and stuff, I could definitely use one of these sessions. This post is actually quite backdated and truly apologise for this lateness. Circus,  a pub and bistro outlet in Pavilion that is no longer stranger to pub-goers around this area. They serves a variety of food and not forgetting their highlight alcoholic beverages as well.

I was pretty late that day and I missed out the review session at Al-Amar Express located at Fahrenheit 88. But that doesn't stop me for having these two refreshing drinks from them. The Mojito and Classic Margarita.

Classic Margarita (RM24)

A mixture of tropical sec, lime juice and tequila.
Mojito (RM26)
The Mojito compromises of Rum, soda water, brown sugar, mint leaves and lime wedges. The alcohol was not as strong as the Margarita but I love the well balanced sweet and sour taste of the drink. Very refreshing indeed especially after a long day at work.

Circus @ Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Despite coming here very few times, I always loved the interior design of the place. The place is very cosy and comfortable. The dimly lit interior which is decorated by sketches and artworks, this could very well be the dream pub for designers.

Mixed Fajitas
The variety of fajitas served with different sauces. This dish would definitely goes great with beer. Love the variety this dish offers which did not leave out the variety of dipping sauce to go with it.

Vietnamese Spring Rolls
These Vietnamese Spring Rolls are actually vegetarian spring rolls. Wasn't too keen on the vegetarian fillings but it goes great with the sesame dipping sauce.

Nicoise Salad
Nicoise Salad is a traditional French salad which has quail eggs and fresh tuna. This is a salad that I wasn't familiar with but the salad was lightly seasoned and it was nicely done as well.

Beef Platter
Beef Platter with Pita Bread
My favourite dish for the night is definitely their Beef Platter with Pita Bread. Although I prefer the beef to be a little bit more rare, the seasoning was done perfectly. The beef goes extremely well with their side dipping sauce and also pita bread. This aromatic dish deserves to be the star of the night.

Sarawak Laksa
To my surprise, Circus at Pavilion serves Sarawak Laksa, a dish which is quite rare over here in Kuala Lumpur. I haven't had any authentic Sarawak Laksa before but I had tasted a pretty close one in Bangsar. This Sarawak Laksa from Circus had nailed major parts of the broth's taste. Circus said they had purposely brought over the Sarawak Laksa paste from Sarawak for this dish which is definitely commendable for wanting to stay true to its roots. However, it was slightly too salty to my liking. This was pretty close to the best Sarawak Laksa I had in Kuala Lumpur.

Angus Rendang
Angus Redang, like its name wise, is the black angus beef cooked with the Malaysian Rendang style. The beef was cooked perfectly moist and juicy. The rendang was really fragrant and flavourful. However, I felt the spiciness could be a little hotter than it is to give it a Malaysian kick it deserved.

Truffle Alfredo
The Truffle Alfredo is also the star of the night. The creaminess and also el dente pasta is such a delicacy to be eaten. The flavour was very well balanced and parmesan cheese in the cream did not overpower its flavour.

Overall, the food here are not bad and I love the fact that Circus tried to came up with different types of fusion dishes. You definitely would not get bored dining here as the dishes took you a trip around the world through a culinary airplane. It has a nice environment to chill out with your friends and basically taking a break off a long day.
