Burgers Go Korean Style @ Bulgolgi Brothers
Unknown7:19 AM 0 comments

Malaysians are huge on burgers! You can see that by judging the amount of roadside burger stalls in Malaysia. Not to mention the burger joints that are still hugely popular with outlets like Burgertory, myBurgerlab, KGB Burger etc. And I will admit it, I'm a huge fan of burgers despite being the quite opposite for bread or edible buns.

Bulgolgi Brothers, a popular chain Korean BBQ restaurant in Malaysia recently jumped into the burger hype as well. And to my surprise and also no surprise at all, they are introducing Korean style burger. In fact, they wanted to package the flavours of Korean BBQ in form of burgers! This means, my 2 favourite cuisines are about to take their relationship to the next level to make sweet love and produce this awesome fusion.

Bibimbap Burger - RM25.90

The first burger I was served was their Bibimbap Burger, supposedly an award winning innovative burger in the United States of America, this burger's taste was surprisingly captured the whole bibimbap experience. The juicy patty that was well-balanced between meat and fat simply melts in your mouth like how bibimbap should be enjoyed. Coupled with their Bulgolgi Brothers' spicy sauce and also the greens, Bulgolgi Brothers literally bring their signature Bibimbap cuisine in compact burger size to you. What I like the most of the burger is definitely the charcoal buns which were made with no colouring and preservatives. The buns are soft and fluffy. Compliments perfectly with the patty.

Cut out of Bibimbap Burger
Bulgolgi Brothers' burger sets also come with tapioca chips for your munching. Definitely a healthier and also much more delicious choice compared to french fries but be warned! Those chips are addictive as heck and once you start on it, it is quite impossible to actually stop unless you have superhuman willpower.

Kimchi Burger - RM22.90
Next is their Kimchi Burger. Now, I am not a fan of kimchi but this Kimchi Burger is a totally different story. The spiciness and also slight sourish sauce opens up your appetite as you dig into the burger. You just want to keep eating it. However, I prefer the Bibimbap Burger compared to the Kimchi Burger unlike the rest of my companions that night as the Bibimbap Burger's patty contained more fat and it makes it juicier.

Spicy GwangYang Burger - RM25.90
The first two burgers really did surprise me on how well they actually brought out the Korean flavours. This Spicy GwangYang Burger brings a surprise like no other. Named after a city in Korea, apparently the people in GwangYang preferred their BBQ meat to be in form of thinly sliced beef than minced meat patty. Bulgolgi Brothers conceptualise this burger with that thought in mind. Instead of your conventional minced meat patty, this burger actually compromises of thinly sliced beef brisket. The slight crispiness and juiciness of the beef slices is extraordinary and I never really had a burger like this in Malaysia before. The melted cheese blends extremely well to balance the spiciness and I highly recommend ordering this dish for its deliciousness and uniqueness.

Unyang Burger - RM28.90
After being caught off-guard with an unique burger patty, Bulgolgi Brothers present us another burger that was highly welcomed by me. They infuse both their juicy meat patty and also sliced beef brisket in their Unyang Burger. You get to taste two types of patty at the same time and the added crispy potato filling provides the nice crunchy feeling of biting in the burger.

To be honest, I did not expect the type of burgers that was served to me that night but Bulgolgi Brothers had nailed down some pretty unique and delicious burger recipe. Surprisingly, their competition winning burger recipe was the most underwhelming burger among the 4 selections. Don't get me wrong, it is pretty darn delicious as well but the other 3 were better.

So do drop by at Bulgolgi Brothers when you have the chance and give their selection of burgers a try. A must try for all who loves Korean food or burgers,
