This post actually really backdated. Apologies to the restaurant owner for the delay as I was super busy trying to keep up with the things happening around me. This time, I was invited for a review session of this Chapter One outlet at Desa Sri Hartamas. It is one of your neighbourhood bar and bistro outlet that serves all sorts of alcoholic drinks and also food. Their food compromises of both western and local cuisines.

I always find it difficult to describe the alcoholic drinks I had. I wasn't much of a drinker. But what are the drinks I like from the list above is definitely the Strongbow Mojito and Snake Bite Black Pint. Both has the smooth texture and also a refreshing taste in them. But among all the drinks, I have a strong dislike towards the Lunch Box. I found the combination to be a tad off. The mixture they had in this Lunch Box are Lager, Orange and Amaretto Disorono although I wasn't too sure which of these that I am not too fond of.

Crispy Pork Ribs

We first got our hands on this crispy pork ribs and I will tell you, this dish is absolutely delicious. Deep fried till crispy on the outside while the meat remain very much tender and not overcooked as well. Plus point for it not being too greasy as I assume there is a thorough filtering of the oil before being served.

Pork Meatballs

The meat in these meatballs were packed nicely and they weren't lose at all. These are quite good but at this point, I wasn't really paying much attention to it as I was occupied by the awesomeness of the pork ribs.

Calamari Rings -RM13.00

The one reason why I enjoy going to the bar despite not being much of a drinker is bar good. Although I have not much experience or even knowledge to enjoy beer but I know, finger food are important in contributing that that experience. So for these Calamari Rings over her, I wouldn't mind going to drink more beer just to snack on these babies. The calamaris are nicely fried till crispy and the squid they used are fresh as well. The chewy texture without any stickiness and there was no hint of fishy smell signifies that the squid is fresh.
So far, I'm pretty impressed with the quality of finger food here. They definitely could make a pub outing great with their huge variety of alcoholic drinks and also top quality finger food.

Spaghetti Carbonara -RM18.90

The spaghetti in Chapter ONE were commendable as well. The ones we had that night was definitely cooked just a bit softer than al dente but definitely better than most restaurants out there. The flavouring was done just right for this cabonara and it wasn't bland at all. On personal preference, I would love the cabonara sauce to be slightly thicker but I wouldn't complain much over here since the flavour was definitely good.

Aglio Olio with Mushroom -RM18.90

Aglio Olio is one of my favourite type of spaghetti. The prawns and other seafood used here are fresh and the seasoning for this dish were done just right. I would prefer this to be a little spicier and this spaghetti was the first to be finished that night. That shows how good it is.

Spaghetti Pork Meatballs -RM20.90

The meatballs are really well cooked too. The meatballs are actually packed nicely as well. The meat was not loose and the texture is just about right for chewing. The sauce seems a bit lacking and I felt that it should be a little more sourish.

Pan-Seared Black Bass -RM28.90

The sea bass was cooked to perfection with the juicy meat remained texture while the skin was fried till crispy. The seasoning was done just right with just the right amount of salt. Would definitely love to have this again.

House Burger -RM18.90

The Pork Burger was pretty moderate in taste if you ask me. I wasn't too fond of the bun's texture and it was a bit oily if you ask me. The pork patty was cooked nicely and wasn't dry at all. That is the important criteria for a burger patty.

Braised Lamb Shank -RM39.90
|
The braised lamb shank over is actually really really good. The meat was nicely cooked as the meat was tender and soft. The sauce used wasn't too peppery as well and the gammy taste of the lamb is hardly noticeable. This is definitely one of my favourite dish for that night.

| Chapter One Sliced Beef -RM18.90 |
This is a very peculiar dish. I'm not saying that I never seen sliced beef before but it was served with wasabi and Japanese soy sauce. To top it off, the beef slices were already well-seasoned. The sliced beef here were cooked medium-done and the juicy yet chewy texture is something you couldn't stop stuffing your mouth with if you love beef. The beef slices were very well marinated and it is definitely not something you get to taste everyday. What's odd is these slices were supposingly go well with the wasabi in soy sauce. What the heck. I love the beef slices. And I love wasabi with soy sauce. This bound to be EPIC.
Or so I thought. The taste didn't compliment each other well and I will definitely stick to having ONLY the beef slices.

| Irish Car Bomb |
The Irish Car Bomb is a unique alcohol mix over here in Chapter One. There is a reason why I feature this drink last and not with the other drinks. It is because it became my favourite drink that night.
From the picture above, in clockwise from Guinness beer, are Irish Whisky (the slight transparent yellow), Bailey's and finally Guinness beer.

The drink were prepared in this manner of dropping the Irish Whiskey first in the glass of Guinness. Next, the Bailey's were thrown in as well. The smooth texture and creamy and I was quite surprised that I found myself liking it. This drink is definitely a MUST-ORDER if you are looking for a good drink to chill with over here in Chapter ONE.
Overall, I found the food served here are definitely good and the price were actually quite reasonable. I love the environment over there and it is definitely a nice place to chill with your buddies over the weekend and such. If you are around the corner of Desa Sri Hartamas, do pay this outlet a visit.
