Bulgogi Brothers @ Paradigm Mall
Unknown1:05 AM 0 comments

Korean BBQ never fails to entice me. The smell of barbequed marinated meat slices is one to behold and able to turn any meat lover into a frenzy. Bulgogi Brothers is an outlet no stranger to Malaysians who love Korean BBQ food. And this time around, Bulgogi Brothers are introducing some bold new flavours to their outlet. These are some of the dishes that we had that very night.

The ambient is cozy and comfortable. The ventilation is superb as there isn't any hint of smoke or smoke smell around the outlet. This is a BBQ outlet that wouldn't need you to sweat buckets just to eat some Korean BBQ.

Spinach - Mashed Pumpkin - Sweet Lotus Root
Radish - Spiced Water Crest - Kimchi
Like any other Korean BBQ outlet, Bulgogi Brothers do have their very own side dishes specially prepared for their customers. Each of their side dishes took a considerable amount of time to prepare them, hence providing some really authentic korean taste. Among all the side dishes, I fancy the most will be the Spiced Water Crest and also Sweet Lotus Root.

Sogogi Milssam | Sautéed Beef Wraps - RM19.90
One of the most exciting dishes I had to try that night is this Sogogi Milssam which is basically Sauteed Beef Wraps. The sauteed beef chunks are slightly sweet and salty. It has a slight crispy texture to it as well. To eat it, you have to wrap it with the wheat flour pancake at the side with all the other ingredients.

The wheat flour texture compliments the beef chunks really nicely with its chewy texture. It is similar to having a small size Char Siew Pau to me.

Dubu Chicken | Crispy Tofu with Chicken - RM15.90
The Dubu Chicken were nicely decorated with some crispy golden brown tofu and also marinated chicken meat. It is served together with teriyaki sauce. The tofu is definitely crispy on the outside while being soft and smooth on the inside just like how I like my tofu to be. The chicken meat are tender and cooked nicely as well.

Galbi Tang | Beef Short Ribs Soup - RM39.90
My favourite dish for the night is definitely their Galbi Tang. The broth is very flavourful and light at the same time. This is a dish that I wouldn't mind having it every single night. The beef short ribs are tender and moist. It soaks up the broth to give a depth to its taste.

Special dipping sauce
Not forgetting, you can also dip your ribs to this special dipping sauce which is slightly spicy. I would prefer it to be much spicier to give it a little kick to the dish though.

Samgyetang | Ginseng Chicken Soup - RM45.90
Next up, is definitely what everyone that night is waiting for, the Ginseng Chicken Soup. The broth is excellent and flavourful. It have enough taste in it and put many chicken soup that i had before to shame. The chicken meat is very tender and the texture is so soft, you wouldn't guess it is meat.

Ginseng Chicken Soup - RM45.90
The whole chicken is actually stuffed with jujubes, ginseng, chestnuts and also sticky rice. It was such a pity that I could not have much of the rice due to my diet plan but the broth goes superbly with the rice. The rice absorbs all the flavour of the broth and although this dish was meant for sharing purposes, I doubt I would be so kind to share next time. Unfortunately, this dish is only available until January 2014. So hurry to Bulgogi Brothers to try this excellent ginseng chicken soup.

Pepper and Chilli
If the soup lack in kick for you, you can add in some of their pepper and chilli. And beware with the chilli! A small dosage of it could provide the very much needed kick to it. If you wanted more, you can prepare a whole jug of water by your side, just in case.

Dak Galbi Bulgogi | Spicy Chicken Bulgogi - RM29.90

The Dak Galbi Bulgogi is not a dish for the faint hearted. The chilli paste is strong and it have the spiciness that could turn off anyone who dislike spicy stuff immediately. The chicken thigh meat were marinated perfectly with their signature Bulgogi sauce and it was also prepared with a variety of vegetables and rice cakes in it.

Bulgogi Brothers Special - RM81.90
For those who only wanted to try on their BBQ set, you can always have their Bulgogi Brothers Special. They have a large array of meat with different taste and texture. Okay to be exact, they have two variation of it. One would be the Unyang-style Bulgogi which are their seasoned beef hand-pressed in heart shapes.

Next, they also have the Gwangyang style Bulgogi which is a style of the southern provinces of Korea. It compromises of seasoned thinly sliced beef which cooked with mushrooms, sweet potatoes, leeks and onions. This is definitely much similar to a Japanese teppanyaki concept.

Unyang-style bulgogi
Gwangyang-style bulgogi
The heart shaped bulgogi certainly has the taste and it is actually much more flavourful than the other one. But it lacks the chewiness texture that I like in meat though. Which is why, I prefer the Gwangyang-style bulgogi that features the thinly sliced beef in it. The aromatic fragrance of the meat when cooked is to die for. The smell does justice to its taste as both are seasoned well and something that several Korea BBQ joints overlook.

And just like the other Korea BBQ joints, they will provide raw lettuce for you to wrap your meat to be eaten with. Dipped your meat with the chilli sauce and wrap it together with the lettuce some mouthgasm experience. However, I felt they could work on a little with their chilli paste though.

Overall, Bulgogi provided some really good food for us the other night. The highlight of the night is definitely their two soup dishes over here. Those soups are really worth every penny that you paid for.
